Sweet glutinous rice: instructions from the packaging, I used Hakubai’s, which took overnight soak, 30 minutes steam, and 30 minutes + coconut milk absorption.
I just saw a lot of people made sticky rice desserts with this brand so I bought it, it’s a bit expensive, and if you don’t use a lot of it just use any glutinous rice brands tbh. Ah, now I have 2kg of rice left, guess I’ll be making more sticky rice recipes in the future, any ideas?
I was not a fan of this dessert (because most of the time it’s served warm, and warm desserts are not my thing) but suddenly I craved something sweet-refreshing dessert, and I saw mangoes are in season, thought I’d give mango sticky rice a chance. I also never made glutinous rice before and I love making food I have never made before so it’s sort of a learning and experiment situation. I also let it chill in the fridge for an hour on the plate before consuming it and now I think I have grown in love with this dessert :)
